Chris and Alison leading stretch block
The Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the selection of Chris Garten as drum major for the 2008 season and Alison Baier as the assistant drum major. Both are entering their third year with the corps.

Chris is a junior at Shepherd University, majoring in Bassoon Performance and Music Education. He originally hails from Frederick, MD and has served the corps as a lead mellophone player for the past two seasons.

Alison is a freshmen History major at Rutgers University, and has performed with the corps for two seasons as a member of the trumpet section. She is a graduate of Scotch Plains High School.

"We are pleased to again have two fine leaders to motivate and guide the corps," said Brian Prato, Director of Operations. "Chris and Alison have already demonstrated strong leadership within the ranks of the organization, and now they will have the opportunity to set the pace for our entire team in the year ahead. Last year was a very good year for The Surf, but we're confident that Chris and Alison will work with our network of leaders to raise the bar for the entire drum corps," Prato added.
