Four members of the 2009 Jersey Surf have been honored with their selection to the All-DCI Color Guard, which will perform at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The game will be televised at 1PM EST on NBC-TV.
Corps members Heidi Brooks of Abington, PA; Cecelia Johnson of Somerdale, NJ, Maria Maggio of Galloway, NJ and Laura Saad of Somerdale, NJ will participate in the prestigious All-DCI Color Guard.
"We are extremely proud of these talented Jersey Surf members and are very pleased that they are being acknowledged for their commitment to performance excellence through their involvement with the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band," said Jersey Surf executive director Bob Jacobs. "For one member of the organization to receive this honor is substantial, but for four to be recognized is simply tremendous. We are confident that they will represent the corps and their schools very well through their participation in this ensemble, and we look forward to their continued leadership within the ranks of the Jersey Surf."
The four Surf members will join with more than 100 other band members and color guard members as they travel on an all-expenses paid trip to San Antonio to prepare for and perform in the nationally televised game, which annually showcases talented high school seniors.
