After canceling the December camp weekend in light of nearly two feet of snow which blanketed the region, the staff, members and volunteers of The Jersey Surf are looking forward to the completion of the audition process and the continued preparations for the corps' 20th Anniversary Season... and its second in Drum Corps International World Class competition.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming the new year and getting back to business," said Jersey Surf Program Coordinator Fred Ford. "After getting off to a great start with an exciting November camp, we were faced with the challenge of having to cancel the December rehearsal weekend in the interest of safety. When we reconvene next weekend for the January camp, we need to continue our percussion auditions and work through the first production of our 2010 performance repertoire with both the brass and percussion sections. Everyone is looking forward to getting back together and to getting busy as we begin to prepare for the start of the 20th Anniversary season of the Jersey Surf."

The January camp will take place at the Camden County Technical School on Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville, NJ. Registration opens at 6:30 on Friday, January 15th and the camp will get underway at 8PM. The camp will be dismissed on Sunday, January 17th, following a public exhibition performance which begins at 2PM in the school's gymnasium.

Membership opportunities still exist for percussionists, brass musicians and color guard performers. For additional information, email info@jerseysurf.org visit http://www.jerseysurf.org/pages/Membership.
